Casey Saxon received her original training in Gainesville under Nina Cameron. At the age of 18, Mrs. Saxon set her sights on Chicago. She spent 3 years there, training, teaching and performing with world-renowned Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago.
After that chapter came to a close, Casey sought to approach the art of dance from a more meaningful, intellectual standpoint. A Florida girl at heart, Saxon returned to her home state and earned her BFA in Filmmaking fro UCF, where she experimented with ways in which to combine the art forms of film and dance. Frustrated by the lack of concert jazz dance in Central Florida, Saxon formed her own professional dance company, CineDance Jazz Dance in 2005. CineDance uses projection and live dance performance to tell stories with motion. Since its inception, CineDance has produced 3 full-length programs of its own, performed at the Red Chair Affair, All Hallows 10 for Fringe, Happenstance I, II and III, and the Orlando International Fringe Festival. Today, the company operates out of Harwood-Watson Dance Studios on a residency. Mrs. Saxon recently set a piece on Valencia Community College for their summer concert series. Saxon's choreography has been described as athletic, captivating and moving, while her dancers are described as fine and fearless. Saxon feels priveleged to have the opportunity to work with such incredible talent, and is proud to now be able to add Raskin Dance Studios to that list.
